Ettalong Beach is close Woy Woy by road and served by car and bus and ferry services all means of transit are frequent and regular. This resort is favoured by a very large number of visitors annually, and has been famous since the first days of the district's popularity. The fishing is a notable attraction, and is excellent from the beach itself, out in the bays, or from the Half Tide Rocks opposite-grounds with a great reputation for bream and other fish. Bathing is another popular feature, and from the beach is particularly safe for ladies and children; while a short distance along the beach to the South, surfing may be enjoyed, at Ocean Beach. The scenery is beautiful; from the beach over Broken Bay, for instance, is one of the finest marine views imaginable. across the bar which protects the inland water from the open sea, Lion Island, Barrenjoey Lighthouse, the Hawkesbury River, and the bays to the south can be seen. |
